Question 1

What does Opus Rank actually do?

Accepted Answer

It generates complete, publish-ready SEO article drafts from a target keyword and a short brief. Each draft includes an SEO title, URL slug, meta title and description, an H1, a structured H2/H3 outline, the full body, a suggested FAQ section, and internal-link anchor suggestions. You can also refresh an existing article with a rewrite. Everything is saved as a draft in an editor for you to review and change before it goes anywhere.

Question 2

How do credits work?

Accepted Answer

Every action has a fixed price in credits. A full SEO article costs 100 credits and a rewrite costs 60. Lite, Startup and Growth include 1,000, 3,000 and 8,000 for each billing period you pay for. Credits are held when a generation starts and charged when it delivers a usable draft. You always see the exact cost and your resulting balance before you confirm.

Question 3

Do cheaper plans have fewer features?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and here is exactly which. Every plan gets the full writing workflow: topical maps, briefs, outlines, article generation, rewrites, AI editing, internal links, the draft editor with version history, and export or copy of any finished draft. Startup and Growth also publish to your CMS and run autopilot; on Lite you export or copy instead. Growth adds frontier models and lets you pick between them, allows unattended publishing, and raises the article length limit (1,500 words on Lite and 2,000 on Startup against 3,000 on Growth). The comparison table above lists every one of these limits, and each is enforced on the server rather than hidden in the interface.

Question 4

If I have credits, can I use any feature?

Accepted Answer

No, and the distinction is worth understanding before you pick a plan. Credits are how much you can generate; your plan is what you may generate. Buying a top-up pack gives you more of the first and none of the second — ten thousand credits on Startup still will not publish unattended, because that is a plan capability rather than a price. When an action is outside your plan the app says so before charging anything, and no credits are spent on a refused request.

Question 5

How long an article can I ask for?

Accepted Answer

Up to 1,500 words on Lite, 2,000 on Startup and 3,000 on Growth, with a floor of 500 words on every plan. A longer request is refused when you submit it, before any credits are held, and the message tells you the limit rather than silently trimming the target. Any length your plan allows can be generated in one step — an outline is an optional planning tool, never a prerequisite.

Question 6

Do unused credits roll over, and do credits expire?

Accepted Answer

Plan credits do not roll over: your balance is set to your allowance after each successful payment rather than added to it, so an unused month does not stack up. Whether credits carry an expiry date depends where they came from — plan credits expire at the end of the period they were granted for, and credits you buy as a top-up never expire at all. Your balance page lists each parcel and its date, where it has one. Credits are always spent soonest-expiry-first, so the ones about to lapse are used first and your purchased credits are kept for last. When a subscription ends, any unused plan credits for the period that has just finished expire with it — the same thing that happens at every monthly reset, applied to the last one. Credits you bought as a top-up are never clawed back, whatever your plan does.

Question 7

What happens if a payment fails?

Accepted Answer

Your plan does not disappear. We keep it exactly as it is for a short grace period while the payment is retried, and during that time everything works normally except that no new credit allowance is granted until the payment succeeds. If the grace period passes without payment, new generations and automatic publishing pause — but reading, editing, your version history and getting your content out all keep working, and your existing credits stay in your balance. Updating your card resumes everything.

Question 8

Can I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

Accepted Answer

All three, yourself, from the billing portal — there is no email to send and no retention call. A change takes effect through our payment provider and your allowance follows your new plan. Cancelling keeps you on your current plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the workspace keeps every article, draft and version, along with whatever credits are still in your balance.

Question 9

What happens when I run out of credits?

Accepted Answer

Generation stops and the app tells you exactly how many credits the action needs versus how many you have. Nothing breaks and nothing is lost: your existing articles, drafts, versions and projects stay fully accessible and editable. You just cannot start a new AI action until your balance covers it.

Question 10

Am I charged if a generation fails?

Accepted Answer

No. Credits are reserved when a job starts, and if the generation fails for any reason — a provider outage, a timeout, an unparseable response — they are refunded in full automatically and the refund is recorded in your usage ledger. If your connection drops and you retry the same request, the retry is recognised as the same request and is not charged a second time.

Question 11

Which AI models are available on each plan?

Accepted Answer

Lite and Startup get a fast, high-quality standard tier model. Growth unlocks our premium quality tier for the strongest long-form generation, and is the only plan on which frontier models write your articles. AI permissions are enforced on the server, and every generation is recorded in your usage ledger.

Question 12

Do I keep control of what gets generated?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely. Every generation is saved as a draft. Nothing publishes automatically, nothing is sent anywhere on your behalf, and you can edit any part of a draft — headings, body, metadata, FAQ — before you use it. Each edit becomes a new version, so the original output and your changes both remain available. The content is yours.

Question 13

Can I publish directly to my CMS?

Accepted Answer

On Startup and Growth, yes. Connect WordPress, Ghost, Webflow or Medium to a project and you can send any article as a draft, publish it immediately, or schedule it for a future time — with its title, slug, meta description, tags and featured image. Publishing to your CMS costs no credits. Approving a draft is always a manual step: nothing publishes without you clicking publish. Lite does not write to your site — you export or copy the finished draft and paste it in yourself. One caveat on Medium: they closed their API programme to new integrations, so that connection works only if you already hold a token from before.

Question 14

Will the app publish anything on its own?

Accepted Answer

Not unless you deliberately set it up to, and on two plans it cannot at all. A generation always lands as a draft and stays there. Autopilot is the one feature that can publish on a cadence: it is not available on Lite, on Startup every run parks and waits for your approval, and only on Growth can it be allowed to publish unattended. Turning that gate off is an explicit choice you make per project, and even then autopilot only writes about topics you put in its queue, respects a monthly article cap, and stops before it can overspend your balance.

Question 15

Can I get the content out of the app?

Accepted Answer

The content is yours, and there are three ways to move it. The intended route is publishing: connect WordPress, Ghost, Webflow or Medium and send the article across with its title, slug, metadata, tags and featured image. Any article can also be downloaded on its own as Markdown, HTML or plain text, at no credit cost — an export moves work you have already paid for. To be clear about what does not exist yet: there is no bulk export, so moving an entire library out means downloading article by article.

Question 16

Can I use this for several websites, or with a team?

Accepted Answer

Both. Each project holds its own site, tone and CMS connection, and how many you can run at once depends on your plan: Lite covers 1, Startup 3 and Growth 10. For teams, invite colleagues by email from Settings — Lite includes 1, Startup 3 seats and Growth 5. A pending invitation holds its seat until it is accepted, withdrawn or expires, so the number on your plan is the number of people who can be in the workspace at once.

Question 17

Is image generation included?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on every plan. A featured image costs 40 credits, is generated from the article title, a summary and a style you pick, and comes with editable alt text. Lite and Startup use a curated model; Growth lets you choose between two. Images are charged only once the file is stored and retrievable.

Question 18

How are my CMS credentials stored?

Accepted Answer

Encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written to the database, using an application key held only on the server and separate from anything else. They are decrypted only at the moment we call your CMS, are never returned to your browser, and never appear in logs. Disconnecting a destination deletes them. We verify a credential works before saving it, so a connection in your list has genuinely authenticated at least once.

Question 19

Can I schedule a post for later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both for an individual post and on a recurring cadence. For a single post: WordPress and Ghost schedule natively — we hand them your chosen time and they publish it themselves. Webflow and Medium have no scheduling of their own, so we hold the post and submit it at your chosen time, and you are only charged when it actually goes out. For a repeating schedule, autopilot runs daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly in your own time zone, with a calendar view of what is coming.

Question 20

Can I rewrite or refresh an existing article?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open any article and choose a rewrite intent: improve SEO, improve clarity, shorten, expand, or change tone. The rewrite costs 60 credits and is saved as a new version alongside the original, so you can compare the two and keep whichever you prefer.

Question 21

How is my data and are my API credentials handled?

Accepted Answer

Your content, projects and usage records are scoped to your workspace, and every request re-checks that scope on the server — an ID from a browser is never treated as permission. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and never in plain text. AI provider keys live only in server-side environment variables and are never exposed to the browser or included in any client bundle. CMS credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and decrypted only on our server at the moment we publish on your behalf.

Question 22

What can the product do today?

Accepted Answer

Everything the product is meant to do. You can build a topical map (80 credits), research a brief (20), turn it into an outline (10), generate the full article (100), rewrite it (60), edit any passage with AI (10 credits per 200 words selected), get internal-link suggestions (10), generate a featured image (40), and publish or schedule it to your CMS (free). Autopilot can run that whole loop on a cadence, and you can pick and pay for a plan yourself.

Question 23

How does billing work?

Accepted Answer

Pick a plan and pay by card; your credits are added as soon as the payment is confirmed by our payment provider, not when your browser returns from checkout. Each month your balance resets to your plan allowance, and unused plan credits do not roll over. You can change or cancel your plan yourself from the billing portal. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for; when that period ends, unused plan credits expire with it, and any credits you bought as a top-up stay in your balance.

Question 24

What changes if I pay yearly?

Accepted Answer

The price per month drops, and that is the only difference. You are charged once for the twelve months up front, and your credits still refresh every month exactly as they do on a monthly plan — a year of billing does not mean a year of credits handed over on day one. Unused plan credits still expire at the end of each month rather than pooling across the year. If you cancel part-way through, you keep the plan and the monthly credit refreshes until the end of the year you have paid for.

Question 25

Will AI-generated content actually rank?

Accepted Answer

Content ranks when it answers the query better than what already ranks — that is true whether a human or a model drafted it. The product is built around that: it plans an outline before writing so sections do not overlap, writes section by section for depth, and it is instructed never to invent statistics, studies, quotes or prices. What it produces is a strong first draft. Your review, your expertise and your specifics are what make it competitive.
