Connect Ghost
Connect a Ghost site with an Admin API key from a custom integration.
Before you start
A plan that includes CMS publishing — compare plans on the pricing page. How many connections you can have also depends on your plan.
Admin access to your Ghost site, to create a custom integration.
Steps
Step 1: Create a custom integration in Ghost
In Ghost admin, go to Settings → Integrations → Add custom integration. Copy the Admin API key — it looks like
id:secret. Do not use the Content API key, which can only read.Step 2: Open the project’s integrations
Go to Projects & integrations in the sidebar, open the project you publish from, and choose Integrations. Choose Connect a CMS to open Connect a destination.
Step 3: Enter the Ghost details
Set Platform to Ghost. Give it a Connection name you will recognise in the publish panel, for example “Company blog”.
- Site URL — your Ghost site’s address, for example
https://example.com. - Admin API key — the key you copied.
Choose Connect. We check the credentials before saving and store them encrypted. They are never shown again or sent to your browser.
- Site URL — your Ghost site’s address, for example
Step 4: Test it and make it the default
The connection appears under Publishing destinations, with what it supports (scheduling, drafts, featured image, tags). Choose Test at any time to check the credentials still work.
If the project has more than one destination, choose Make default on the one the publish panel should preselect. Disconnect deletes the stored credentials; posts already published stay where they are and your publishing history is kept.
What you’ll see
Ghost is listed under Publishing destinations and available in every article’s Publish panel. Keep the key secret: it grants full Admin API access to your site.
Troubleshooting
The key is refused
Make sure you copied the Admin API key, not the Content API key, including the part before and after the colon, and that the Site URL is the address your Ghost admin runs on.
I removed the integration in Ghost
Publishing stops working. Create a new custom integration, then disconnect and connect again here with the new key.
