Write an article from a topical map topic

Generate a draft straight from a topic on your map. The map already answers the keyword, intent, language and links, so you only confirm the title.

Before you start

  • A finished topical map — see Build a topical map.

  • Enough credits for an article. The dialog shows the cost and your balance after it.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Pick a topic

Open the map from Planning. In any view, find a topic marked Not started and choose Generate.

  2. Step 2: Check the details

The Generate this article? dialog shows the Article title, Keyword, Search intent, Locale and Suggested angle taken from the map.

Edit the Article title if you like. Editing it changes this article only — your topical map is not updated.

  3. Step 3: Adjust the options (optional)

Open Advanced options to set the Target length and to switch the FAQ section, the takeaways section and the featured image on or off.

  4. Step 4: Generate

Choose Generate for … credits. Once you confirm, generation can’t be stopped. You can close the dialog and keep working — the article carries on, and the map shows the draft when it is ready.

  5. Step 5: Open the draft

When the topic shows Draft created, choose Open draft.

What you’ll see

A draft written for that topic, linking to sibling articles that already exist from the same map. The topic shows Draft created with an Open draft button.

Troubleshooting

A topic shows “Failed”

The held credits are refunded automatically one hour after the failure. Choose Try again to start a new attempt.

The Generate button is missing on a topic

The topic is already Generating or has a draft. Moving a draft to the Trash makes the topic available to generate again.

The dialog refuses the length

Your plan caps article length. The dialog opens Advanced options so you can choose a shorter Target length.

  • Build a topical map

Turn one seed topic into a pillar page plus three supporting clusters, with intent, priority, a suggested publishing order and internal links.

  • Add internal links

Find places where this article should link to your other articles or to pages on your site, and apply the links you agree with.
