Connect Shopify
Approve the connection in Shopify — no key to copy — and publish articles into your store’s blog.
Before you start
A plan that includes CMS publishing — compare plans on the pricing page. How many connections you can have also depends on your plan.
Permission to install apps on the Shopify store.
At least one blog in the store (Content → Blog posts in Shopify).
Your store’s permanent address, ending in
.myshopify.com— find it in Shopify under Settings → Domains. A custom storefront domain will not work here.
Steps
Step 1: Open the project’s integrations
Go to Projects & integrations in the sidebar, open the project you publish from, and choose Integrations. Choose Connect a CMS to open Connect a destination.
Step 2: Start the connection
Set Platform to Shopify, give it a Connection name, and enter the Store address, for example
your-store.myshopify.com. Choose Continue to Shopify.Step 3: Approve in Shopify
Shopify asks you to approve one permission: write access to blog content. That is enough to create and update articles, and nothing else — no products, orders or customers. We never see your Shopify password. Approve within ten minutes of starting.
Step 4: Choose the blog
Back on Integrations, the store is listed under Publishing destinations. Use Publishes into to choose which of the store’s blogs articles go to.
Step 5: Test it and make it the default
The connection appears under Publishing destinations, with what it supports (scheduling, drafts, featured image, tags). Choose Test at any time to check the credentials still work.
If the project has more than one destination, choose Make default on the one the publish panel should preselect. Disconnect deletes the stored credentials; posts already published stay where they are and your publishing history is kept.
What you’ll see
Shopify is available in every article’s Publish panel. Shopify schedules articles natively, and an update to an article already sent changes that article rather than creating a second one.
Troubleshooting
“That store has no blog to publish into.”
Create a blog in Shopify under Content → Blog posts, then connect again.
“That connection link had expired.”
Connection links are valid for ten minutes. Start again from Connect a CMS and approve straight away.
“You were signed into a different workspace when you came back from Shopify.”
Switch to the workspace you want the store connected to, then start again from there.
The connection shows a problem and a Reconnect button
The app was uninstalled from the store or its access was withdrawn. Choose Reconnect and approve again; the connection keeps its settings and history.
